A community pub just a short distance from the train and bus route. The main bar and vault have changed little over the years and it is like stepping back to bygone times.Multi-roomed classic pub.Lovely licensee who really cares about his pub and beer. Hand-pulls usually serve Tetley Cask, Greene King IPA, plus at least 1 microbrewery beer (often Prospect, but many other beers are also served). Awaiting an Assured Community Asset (ACA) protection order. Great pub where locals and visitors are welcome:
Still retains three small rooms at the front and a larger one at the rear. Front left room has a door with button on it and old possibly inter-war fixed seating, possibly a 1930s brick and wood surround fireplace but the bar fittings date from the mid 1990s. The front right room has a doorway, post war fixed seating, old wood surround but new brick interior. On the right but opened-up to the passage is another small room with fixed seating, old wood surround but new tiled fireplace. Lots of new pine dado panelling. Larger room at rear has another c.1985 bar counter and back. Not enough.
