This Pub is Closed Long Term

Dating from 1879 but radically changed and extended including a former use as a shop and Post office. Saved from closure in 2009 when pub became an integral part of the community, including sponsoring local charities and helping to resurrect the village fete. There was a major refurbishment to the pub in 2015. After a period of closure reopened in 2022. Traditional family pub. Campervans welcome overnight for donation nominated charity. Beer range may vary.

Active Campaign

The pub closed Dec 2022. A community group are campaigning to buy the pub. The “Save our Pub” petition now has over 400 signatories. The Yarnfield and Cold Meece Community Limited Community Benefit Society is being registered. The society plans to negotiate with the pub owner (Stonegate) to buy the pub, and apply for a grant from the Community Ownership Fund. £600k will be require to buy and renovate the pub, which it is planned will be raised from grants, donations and a community share scheme.
