A village pub, part of the Lord Stafford's Estate which reopened after a major refurbishment in 2016. There are a bar with darts, a snug, a lounge and two dining areas. Home cooked meals are prepared with local produce wherever possible. The pub is famous for its selection of ports and it has a good selection of wines, you can buy bottles to take home, Well behaved dogs are welcome in the Snug and bar area, there are water bowls with fresh tap water by the front door and around the garden. On the bar there is a jar of dog biscuits for four legged friends. The pub website describes a 3.5 mile circular walk from the pub in case you need to work up a thirst. Walkers, cyclists, fishermen, horses, dogs, in fact everyone, are welcomed.! The pub has its own classic car club. There is a room for meetings or private dining parties which takes up to 50 people seated. The pub ran a community hub during lockdown and still offers takeaways and runs a small shop with local produce.
