Theatre Bar, open to the general public
The Chapel Bar is the bar at the new Theatre Severn which opened in March 2009. In fact it incorporates the old Methodist chapel which was absorbed into the theatre's building. Located on the stalls level, it is now a bright stylish space in keeping with the venue as a whole. Naturally, its main purpose is to serve theatre goers, but members of the public are welcome during opening hours. Bar opens one hour before each performance and during intervals. Note that you may find it open earlier during afternoons when matinee performances are on.
In fine weather the terrace seating with views of the town & river is a good spot to relax. Although they have two handpumps, the beers just tend to alternate between Three Tuns and Salopian.
Real ale no longer on sale after the 2020 re-opening. This may change as life returns to normal.
