This original red-brick sandstone pub has been much enlarged and was relaunched in 2014 as a 'Whitbread Inn', offering meal deals and the like. Internally it has been arranged quite tastefully. The bar, is to the left of the entrance and dining areas to the right are quite distinct, with the latter having various alcoves and levels which make it seem a little more intimate. Background music is unobtrusive.
Reopened as a Queensway Inns pub in September 2026. There have been no internal changes and the staff have been retained. The pool table has gone.
Opens early for breakfast, at 6.30 on weekdays and 7.00 on weekends.
When visited on 24/9/26, it was stated that they intend to start stocking Salopian Shropshire Gold in the not too distant future alongside Tribute & Doom Bar.
Historic Interest
