A regular guide entrant now this is a cosy, friendly pub with three separate bar areas and lots of nooks and crannies and a large courtyard area. There are usually several Hop Back ales, still ciders and perry available at any time straight from the cask . There is live music throughout the weekend, an acoustic jam session every Wednesday as well as a Ukelele group on Friday afternoons. Well behaved dogs are positively encouraged.

Historic Interest

The pub sits on the site of the original "south gate" to the medieval town.
