Wolfgang's Beer Haus, Balham

This pub was converted from a shop to one failed wine bar, then another, before becoming the Dragons Puzzle (1994) and then just the Puzzle (1997). Taken over by the then Capital Pub Co in 2004, it was transformed into the Balham Arms, with attractive dining areas alongside a traditional long bar and a non smoking lounge at the back. In recent years it had been renamed the Clarence. Sold by Greene King (Metropolitan Pubs) to an independent operator in May 2017, it became a bar, kitchen and shisha lounge and free of tie, with cask and keg beers from Belleville available frtom June 2017. In November that year it was converted to a Smoke & Grill restaurant. Wolfgang's Beer Haus relocated to the premises from the City on 21 February 2019, with keg beer mainly from Krombacher.
