This Pub is Permanently Closed
Pub closed, now a private residence. Friendly, out-of-town locals' pub in the old tradition, on the original Portreath road from Redruth. Its location in the former mining district is reflected by old tin and copper mining artefacts and pictures around the walls. There are two bars, the larger room having a welcoming fire in winter and being more favoured by the locals in the evening. The guest beer appears intermittently, mainly in the busy summer months, and may be another Cornish brew. Both the beer and the home-cooked pub food represent excellent value for money; the meals are prepared by the landlady. There is a keen euchre team.
