Dating from before 1841, this is a busy and cosy traditional thatched local with a beamed ceiling and open fires with a recently extended front room. This free house offers seven handpumps for changing ales. Westons Old Rosie cider is on another pump. Food is served every lunchtime and most evenings. The pub also has darts and crib teams. Local CAMRA Pub of the Year many times and ever present in the Good Beer Guide since 2002.
Historic Interest
Opened before 1841 and was owned by Reed Bros of Marlborough in 1879. In 1921 the adjoining cottage was incorporated. Stroud Brewery acquired it in 1957.
