Busy town centre pub with plenty of daytime trade; nice decorative faïence finishes to exterior, lovely wooden panelling interior three rooms are served by two bars. The original pub was in Baines' Directory 1822. Over the years the surname Hobman pops up frequently as landlord/landlady.
