A traditional edge of town centre pub, initially 'The Thorn' but following the coming of the railway to Ossett in 1874, the name was changed to 'The Great Northern Hotel' and in 1961 to The Thorn Tree Inn. With reopening the pub now [July 2018] offers food, with Sunday food until 4pm. [Hours later updated from Pub's Facebook June 2024]
