Opened on 30th August 2016 this new Wetherspoon is named after the famous Duke of Wellington. The building has, at very great expense, been massively rebuilt from the Wellington Town Hall which also previously had a Rex Cinema on the upper floors. The building was in a very dilapidated state and needed some considerable work to achieve the finish that we see today. The upper floor has been opened out to reveal a magnificent brick wall and wooden carved roof. A visit just for the architectural effects is worth the effort in addition to the usual Menu and Real Ale choices which will feature local breweries. There is no car park and you will need to use local municipal car parking. The nearest is west of the traffic lights towards Exeter and can be found on the right, between Fore Street & North Street.
Buses of Somerset service 22/22A from Taunton to Wellington High Street just 90m from pub; services continue to Rockwell Green or Tonedale daily, day time, every 15min Mon-Sat. Hourly on Sundays/Public Holidays. No evening services.
Extra service No 22 Mon-Sat only (not Public Holidays) to and from Tiverton every two hours.
