This Pub is Permanently Closed
Reopened late October 2014 with an experienced licensee at the helm, which ushered in a period of greater stability for a pub that has undergone periods of closure in recent years. It was an unpretentious village pub, but with an unexpected gem in the form of the Elizabethan Lounge, a wood-panelled room expensively fitted out to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's coronation in 1953; the Tudor-style fireplace has a Jacobean surround that came from a local mansion. However, the pub closed without warning in March 2015, and was sadly converted into a fish and chip restaurant.
