Historic Interest

Dating from the 18th century, and known to be operating as a pub from at least 1850 (when it was listed in Bagshaw's Directory) to 1865. Said to be opposite Tranmere Old Hall (now demolished) but precise location unknown. Converted to a private residence in the late 19th century and later demolished and replaced by shops.
