Genuine locals pub situated in the hillside residential streets where Birkenhead merges into Oxton. Decorated with photographs of old Wirral, the central bar serves the main room and the adjoining games area.
Historic Interest
Previously the Royal Oak and Royal Hotel, a pub dating back to at least 1850 when it was listed in Bagshaw's Directory. Operated by Yates's Castle Brewery, then selling John Smiths beers in the 1980s. After closure, reopened as a free house in 2009 as the Cock & Pullet. Reverting to a previous name, the Royal in December 2023.
