Sprawling modern open-plan pub, much better than its Elizabethan (circa 1965) predecessor but still somewhat anonymous, sporting the pseudo-domestic decor currently fashionable amongst pub-chain designers - lots of light wood, framed prints, non-operational fireplaces etc. Piped music, sports TV and games machines. Although they have three hand pumps they sometimes have only one in use as there isn't the demand for cask ale. Good value food served every day including breakfast from 8am until noon. Sunday carvery. Beer garden with lighting and heaters. Quiz night Wednesday. Children welcome until 9pm.
In mid 2017 the Fox was one of over 70 pubs sold by Mitchells & Butlers. It is now owned by Blackrose pubs.
