Imposing mock-Tudor one-room pub, rebuilt in the late 1920s after the original pub was destroyed in a fire. The wooden bar, lined with barstools, faces you on entry. Seating areas are to the left and right. A sizable side and rear extension was built in 2024. There is a large garden to the rear.

From 2012 the pub went through several changes including as an Italian restaurant where non-eating drinkers were not welcome. Thankfully in October 2017 it reopened as a friendly pub once more. It now offers a choice of up to five ales from Elgoods and other regional brewers. Burgers and wings are cooked in house by Orlene's Kitchen. There is also a changing gourmet food van each Tuesday evening.

The pub sponsors Milton FC, Waterbeach Sunday FC and other local clubs.

The Waggon & Horses reopened with new licensees in late May 2023.

Historic Interest

Once a Good Beer Guide (2001 to 2012 editions) pub run by legendary landlord Nick Winnington, and his wife Mandy, until their retirement in 2012.
