This Hotel is Closed Long Term

This is a hotel, which means that the bar is only open to residents.

The hotel has a spacious upstairs bar with a balcony overlooking the harbour. This opened in May 2023 and was open to the public. After its winter closing it was hoped the bar would open again at the start of the tourist season in 2024, but this did not happen.

Historic Interest

The hotel was commandered in WW2 as HQ for 27 Air Sea Rescue. These RAF rescue boats saved the lives of 13,000 British, allied and enemy aircrew.A plaque outside commemorates this feat.
