This is an off licence that sells real ale in a bottle, but they are not licensed for consumption on the premises.

This is a simple corner shop, except that it’s not actually on a corner, but hidden away at the back is an Aladdin’s Cave of bottled beers. Some are mainstream, some exotic but all are keenly priced (for example, Little Valley bottle-conditioned beers for £1.95 apiece). The owner is keen on ale and buys in almost anything that he can get through his wholesalers – especially if it’s on special offer! Some beers that are nearing or just past their “best before” date can be particularly good value.

Note the opening hours carefully: the shop closes for an hour and a half at lunchtime and longer on Sundays.

There is on street parking outside or can use car park of Garrick's Head pub opposite.
