This pub's spacious light and airy single room is divided into two areas. The main part, with its high ceiling supported on slender pillars, includes the attractive mahogany bar counter and back bar. The extension to the left, bookable for private functions, features some delightful wooden panelling, a fireplace and, somewhat unusually, a local map on the ceiling! Throughout is comfortable furniture and a mixture of polished floorboards and carpeting. There are plenty of books for patrons to read. Outside there is a raised patio to the side with tables, chairs and umbrellas.

Sadly, the remaining pump on the bar now appear to be for decoration only. An interesting menu offers Thai food and Sunday roasts, all at reasonable prices.

The pub hosts Rhymetime’s lively preschool music and movement classes every Wednesday 9.30am (chargeable).
