With no TVs but packed with photographs and prints featuring boxers and early boxing history, this is a must for boxing fans. Refurbished to a high standard in 2023 at a reputed cost of £800,000. Five cask ales should now be available here according to management feedback.

The food offering includes bar snacks, pub favourites, pies, and a kids menu.

Historic Interest

Originally called the Union Arms to commemorate the 1707 Act of Union between England and Scotland, this basic single bar corner pub was rebuilt in 1878 and renamed in 1960 after the famous champion bare knuckle prize fighter nicknamed the Black Diamond, who had been its landlord from 1820 to 1838. "Cribb's Parlour" was mentioned in Thackeray's Vanity Fair and the pub was also referenced by Conan Doyle.
