Rebuilt in 1939 to replace a pub dating from 1718, the main ground floor is effectively divided into two separate bars by the large serving area and there is a further area on a slightly lower level at the rear. Some attractive wood panelling has been retained whilst, outside, the upper window frames are pure 1930s, as is the metal second floor balcony with its stylised horse-motif metal railing.
