Re-opened under its original name of the Kings Arms on 8th May 2025.

Geared up as a gastropub, this is a friendly and popular community and family venue with a large dining area. Situated in an old Grade II listed weatherboarded building, the interior has been completely refurbished with a modern look whilst retaining the low beamed ceiling around the bar.

Food is available throughout the day from an extensive menu, whilst there is a wide selection of drinks including a single cask ale (three handpumps are present).

A large garden at the rear leads out from the back bar with a patio area and large lawn with plenty of table sets and a separate children's play area.

This pub previously closed on 30th September 2023 following its conversion into a breakfast and brunch bar as the Propeller Bar & Kitchen. Prior to that it was a bar and Turkish restaurant as the Uskudar Kings Arms, opening in February 2022. The original Kings Arms closed in May 2021.

Historic Interest

The current weatherboarded building dates from around 1700, but records date back to 1585. Located at the southern edge of the common, this former inn served the hamlet of Leaves Green, which still retains several cottages dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as being on the junction of the main Bromley to Westerham coach road with the former road to Downe (Milking Lane). The latter was severed in 1917 with the establishing of the airfield for the Royal Flying Corps, but was previously used by Charles Darwin, who lived across the valley to the east at Down House. The ground floor has extensions and a porch that were added in the 19th century. This later became a hotel and was owned by Nalder and Collyer, serving their range of ales. During World War II, this was very popular with pilots from RAF Biggin Hill due to its location and suffered from bomb damage during the Battle of Britain. In 1949, a Spitfire crash-landed here and demolished part of the pub. Grade II listed in 1973 by Historic England (entry 1064393), which states: "C18 or older weatherboarded, structure. 3 windows. Ground floor has C19 extensions. Sliding casements and a C19 porch. Modern chimney stack."
