Popular single roomed pub in the centre of town where conversation is the usual entertainment. The wooden floored bar area has a warming range fire and in the rear section with its flagstone floor there is more seating and another stove. Photographs and pictures of local interest adorn the walls and the pump clips hanging over the bar showcase the many guest beers sold. An annual beer festival coincides with the town's Food and Drink Festival in May. Outside there's an attractive enclosed beer garden. Good-value home-made food is served from 12-2.15 (not Sun).
