This community pub, located next to the Memorial Hall, was originally a private club before it became a freehouse. It underwent a change of ownership and significant refurbishment before re-opening in July 2023. The open-plan lounge area has a clean, classic but modern feel with plenty of woodwork and modern fittings. The bar at one end of the room serves four real ales. A large outdoor area is well-used in good weather. Two large TV screens shows sports TV. A quiz is held on Thursday nights. Children are welcome in the pub until 9pm and the pub is also dog friendly. The pub is linked to the adjacent Memorial Hall whose annual beer and banger festival, held in August, and other specific events it supports.
