Town-centre pub on the ground floor of a building that has been a hotel since 1861. Refurbished during 2021, the bar has a lighter, airy appearance, but retains its original plasterwork and decorations, and has luxurious and stylish furnishings. Typically three real ales are offered, mainly from local breweries. Meals are available and there is a fixed price menu 12-6pm. The attached restaurant is part of the Le Bistro Pierre chain. There are full disabled facilities but the rear door provides best access.
