Bar with Rooms.

A welcoming, traditional country pub in the heart of Suffolk with grill menu and a choice of local cask ales on handpumps. Uppermost restaurant area has a large inglenook fireplace and there is a smaller real fire in the bar area.

Closing time may be extended when busy.

Historic Interest

Reported in Last Orders in Jan 1981 as reopening after Guy & Margaret had reverted bars back to former times. The lounge was a tap room with games & gravity beer. Burton bitter on offer. The lounge retained handpumps & a separate restaurant is now open. In Aug/Sep 1981 edition of Last Orders*** it was reported that Guy & Margaret were offering cheap beer at 50p a pint & new quoits beds & tap room that includes chess & shoveha'penny.
