Only in later years has this property become known as either Cromwell Hotel & Vintage Hotel before its demise in 2007. Historic Interest
Listed as Bell (in 1855) & as Bell commercial inn (by 1865). Listed as a commercial hotel & posting house in 1900 In 1861 listed at 21 High st. May also be listed at 29 High St. Listed at 30 High St. in 1871 census. A report in the Bury & Norfolk Post & Suffolk Herald** on 28 Aug in 1883 states that : "Mr FINCHAM of the Bell, Lakenheath, had personally attended the petty sessions for the renewal of his licence, on behalf of the same house, for 51 years". A report in the Bury & Norfolk Post & Suffolk Herald** on 15 Jun in 1886 states that : "Mildenhall Petty Sessions: Extension of time: FINCHAM, at Bell, Lakenheath - 1 hour on 15th & 18th".
