Oct 2017 - the owner announced its closure due to the problems he was having in obtaining the later night licence that he left was economically necessary to make the place viable.

Born on 2nd September 2005, The Good Ship is a bar, pub, club and music venue all rolled into one. Run by CAMRA member John McCooke, this is not an old style traditional pub - it's a more modern environment offering beer in a music and late night venue. Used to sell cask beer but now there is a keg Wild River which is a reasonable substitute when our reviewer goes to comedy nights on Mondays (which he highly recommends). There can be an entry charge - check the web site and also for opening times, the opening time can vary depending on what's on.
