Traditional pub serving two cask ales, sandwiches and pub meals with a children's menu. Entertainments include quizes, tribute bands and a July Crown Fest.

The long narrow public bar is partitioned into two areas, with steps in between. The smart lounge has a beamed ceiling and is also partitioned and part raised.

Formerly a coaching inn dating back to the 1850s, it once incorporated a shoemaker's shop. Extensively refurbished and modernised in 2022 and 2025.

The garden has picnic tables and a child-proof fence. Walkers are welcome.
