Historic Interest
In May 1981 was a bar called Masseys selling Theakstons Bitter and Old Peculiar in halves only at 50p per half. The first ÂŁ1 a pint in Bolton! There can't have been many takers as by December 1982 the Theakstons had gone. It became known as Peter's cellar and then Bergeracs. Several other pubs, bars and food venues occupied the site but none of them sold any cask beer.
