Royal Oak, Harwood (Istanbul Bar & Grill)

Listed in John Stotts 1977 Guide to Good Beer in Bolton as Royal Oak selling Greenall Whitley Bitter and both light and dark Mild (E), TV, darts, dominoes, pool and snacks. Listed in the 1980 selective Greater Manchester Beer Guide. In May 1981 this was a Greenall Whitley selling their Bitter (E). In mid 1985 Handpumps replaced the electric pumps and a social was held here on August 18th. It was included in the 1987 and 1988 Good Beer Guide, the pub was refurbished in August 1987 and Fake handpumps operating electric pumps replaced the real handpumps, Davenports Bitter was now available. Pub was visited on a Harwood Prices survey on February 7th 1988. It was listed in the 1989 Beer in Bolton Guide as selling Greenall Whitley Mild and Bitter and Davenports Bitter by electrically operated handpumps. Closed as a Pub doing food to become a Restaurant with a small bar and various name changes.
