Pub delicensed 23/06/14, Sold prior to Auction and relicensed again on 02/07/14 by Creative Pubs and Bars Ltd of Birchwood, Warrington. This company was dissolved in 2019. In May 1981 this was a Greenall Whitley keg pub. In September 1987 it was changed from being a managed to a tenanted pub as it was believed to be losing money, typical Greenall Whitley! In January 1993 it became a Burtonwood pub, it subsequently passed to Marstons but had remained keg only. During 2013 the pub was put up for sale at Fleurets by Marstons for £150,000. The pub had been sold by Marston's who delicensed it June 23rd 2014, the new owners relicensed it on July 2nd, it was hoped cask beer would appear on the bar for the first time! For a short period in 2014/5 cask beer was available and the handpump remained on the bar for a while but then disappeared. In 2017-9 a For Sale sign appeared on the pub, but strangely did not appear to be listed by the estate agent.
