Historic Interest
In May 1981 it was a Tetley Keg Pub. In July 1985 Jennings Bitter was expected and was on the official list in August, but by Xmas the handpump had been and gone and nobody had had a pint. The pub was not listed in the 1989 Beer in Bolton Guide, but very soon afterwards the pub had been refurbished in 1989, with Tetley Mild, Dark Mild and Bitter (H) now available, the refurbishment was deemed a mess. A further refurbishment was undertaken in late 1991 which corrected the mess. The Great North Western Beer Festival programme listed the beers as Tetley Bitter and Moorhouse's Premier Bitter, though by December 1993 the later had gone. For a while no cask beer was available but in May 2013 two guest beers started to be sold but by 2015 they were only from the less interesting national brands from Punch Taverns. They sold the pub to Heinekens Star Pubs and Bars around 2017, but the closure of Moor Lane bus station opposite and its transfer to the new interchange spelled the downfall for the Albion in 2018/9. It did reopen at one point for two or three weeks but then closed for the final time.
