Historic alehouse on the Grand Union Canal, dating from 1798, and welcoming to canal users and locals. The original building on the waterside is now the front bar, with a modern extension to the rear. Internal decorations feature canal memorabilia, including interesting maps. Four permanent real ales are offered, along with two locally sourced guest beers. The friendly staff are knowledgeable, and proud to serve local ales and food. There is outside seating by the canal, next to a busy double lock.
