This Pub is Permanently Closed

A genuine free house with up to 30 beers in rotation - about 6 at a time. A traditional family pub with a coal fire, no music and a keen chess club. History goes back to at least 1730 though it was rebuilt in 1898. It was once owned by the actor David Garrick and was known as the Six Bells until 1780. Dickens used this inn as the venue where Bill Sykes and Oliver Twist took refreshment prior to a burglary in Chertsey.
