A pub from 1840 and formerly known as the Wheatsheaf, it changed name to the March Hare in the mid 1980's under Whitbread's control. It closed in 2008, until bought and rescued from Admiral Taverns by the current licensees in February 2010. After a refurbishment, it re-opened in August 2010 as a freehouse. 2020 saw a further refurbishment during lockdown. In April 2022 the March Hare installed a half barrel brewery and became the March Hare BrewPub, with real ales brewed on the premises to the high standards with which John, the joint landlord, serves his beers.. The Brewpub is very popular with customers from both within the village and further afield. Local venue for Dunton Folk musicians. Winter Dark Beer Special festival in late January.
