Very old traditional village pub on the main street. It is one of Britain's most haunted pubs and only a few minutes walk from the historic Wingfield Manor. There is limited space for car parking.
Historic Interest
Nearby are the remains of the magnificent 15th century Wingfield Manor, partially destroyed around 1644 during the English Civil War. Mary Queen of Scots was previously held prisoner here in the 16th century by Bess of Hardwick's husband, the Earl of Shrewsbury.
