Reopened with new management May 2023. Access is through a corridor from the rear car park. Three stone-framed hatchways form the bar, backed by paintings of bears. Rooms subdivided by settles lead off from the bar, filled with old curios, including many on the bear theme. Bear Hall occupies the other end of the inn, available for special events. In addition to the 4 regular cask ales on handpull, one and sometimes two changing guest ales are available from the barrel. Quiz is on Thursdays and breakfast is served on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday mornings only. The garden offers panoramic views of the Derbyshire countryside towards Crich Stand. There is no public transport to this location but holiday cottages and B&B accommodation are available.
