In the main terminal of Aberdeen Airport, close to the main entrance, this former Wetherspoon’s was taken over by TRG Concessions on the 28th January 2018 and they run airport bars all over Britain. It is popular with airport staff, travellers and offshore workers. Unfortunately now down to two ales from the five available previously and availability seems to be sporadic.
Alcohol is served all open hours. A complete refurbishment was done in April 2018 and the walls still feature informative framed photographs of local personalities, including Thomas Blake Glover, 'The Scottish Samurai' - one of the prime movers of Japan's industrialisation in the late 19th century. Also added is a seated area just outside the main bar area. However, you can no longer wait here as for your bags to arrive as the baggage carousel has been moved!
An extensive outdoor area features 'The Baby Boar', a sculpture carved from a one ton boulder of local Kemnay granite.
** No longer selling any Real Ale **
It is not really practical to walk to Dyce railway station and the bus which used to travel between the two locations seems to have been dis-continued.
