A mirrored downstairs bar in the basement of the Brentwood Hotel, has lots of comfortable couches and seating areas. A winner of several local CAMRA awards, it offers up to eight changing beers, usually a mix of national brands and Scottish micros. Tasters are offered if undecided. Reduced prices at weekends.

Bar lunches are available and the adjoining restaurant serves good food in the evening. Railway and bus stations are nearby and easily reached by descending the stairs from nearby Crown Terrace to Bridge Street.
