CAMRA podcast returns for season seven

The Campaign for Real Ale’s (CAMRA) popular podcast Pubs. Pints. People. returns for a seventh season with an all-new bumper-sized episode, full of interesting interviews with special guests.

The Pubs. Pints. People. podcast shines a light over the world of beer, cider, pubs and clubs, as well as CAMRA’s campaigning efforts. Join the podcast team as they sit down with exciting guests from the beer, cider and pub industries, and learn about brewing, cider making and much more.

The new seventh series kicks off with a deluxe extra-long episode, Marvelous Mild, celebrating this wonderful beer style, with the podcast team travelling to the Black Country in search of the delicious malty brew.

The episode puts a spotlight on West Midland brewers and pubs. Brewer Alice Batham and operations manager Clare Batham of Bathams brewery and brewer Ricky Follos of Sarah Hughes brewery, plus general manager Alex Marchant of the Beacon Hotel in Sedgley, lift the lid on the Dudley beer scene.

The mild beer style and the Black Country’s beer culture are discussed with writer, speaker and teacher Professor Carl Chin, author of the Sunday Times bestseller Peaky Blinders: The Real Story.

The new podcast episode also sheds light on CAMRA’s prestigious Champion Beer of Britain award. Chatting to master certified trainer and European Beer Consumers Union (EBCU) accredited beer judge, Christine Cryne, the episode unveils the mammoth process behind the UK’s most illustrious beer award. The next winner of the Champion Beer of Britain award will be announced in August 2024.

Finally, the podcast team interviewed CAMRA’s commercial director Dean Barrett. Dean explains how he became involved with the Campaign’s National Executive.

The full episode is now available on Acast, Spotify and Apple Podcast, and wherever you get your podcasts from. You can listen now by visiting https://camra.org.uk/podcast/
