National Executive Election 2026 – CAMRA AGM 18 April 2026

Nominations for CAMRA’s National Executive elections 2026 are now open. There are three members of the National Executive to be elected.

We are seeking individuals who can bring diverse skills and perspectives to our board, such expertise will be instrumental in enhancing our governance and driving our strategic vision. Joining the National Executive offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on CAMRA and the broader community. As a member of the National Executive, you will:

  • Shape strategic direction: Play a crucial role in setting the strategic vision and direction of CAMRA, ensuring that our initiatives align with our mission and values.

  • Influence policy and decision-making: Be at the forefront of key policy decisions, influencing the future of our organisation and the sectors we serve.

  • Drive innovation and change: Lead innovative projects and campaigns that drive positive change, leveraging your expertise to create meaningful and lasting impact.

  • Enhance governance and accountability: Strengthen our governance framework by providing oversight and ensuring transparency, integrity, and compliance in all our operations.

  • Expand your network: Collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, stakeholders, and community leaders, expanding your professional network and gaining new perspectives.

The results of the election will be announced at CAMRA’s Members’ Weekend, which is in St Albans, taking place between 17 and 19 April 2026.

mes, membership number and contact details of ten sponsors together with a declaration that the candidate is willing and able to stand must be sent to the Company Secretary (anita.newlandsmith@camra.org.uk) by email to arrive no later than 3.00pm on Friday 13 February 2026.

All nomination forms received will be acknowledged. For the avoidance of doubt the process to accept all nominations by email is being continued. All sponsors will be contacted in due course to validate the nominations as part of the process.

Husting statement

In addition to providing signed Nomination Forms, all candidates must provide hustings statements answering the following four questions in not more than 500 words in total for ALL questions with a minimum of 60 words per question:

  • What experience do you have of volunteering within CAMRA and how do you consider these experiences will be useful if you are elected?

  • What relevant skills and experiences do you have from life that will enhance the National Executive and what would you expect to contribute?

  • If elected, what vision do you have for the next four years as you influence the organisation as a member of the National Executive?

  • What other statement would you like to make to support your candidacy?

This must be accompanied with a suitable photograph, which will be produced in BEER Magazine/What’s Brewing. The candidates’ responses and their photographs will be uploaded to the AGM page on the CAMRA website and the electronic voting site managed on CAMRA’s behalf. Candidates are encouraged to focus their husting statements on explaining their suitability to the role particularly noting the following their (i) experience of similar responsible roles/professional skills (ii) experience and commitment to CAMRA (iii) motivation for standing (iv) particular attributes that will enhance the NE.

Candidates will be invited to produce a two-minute video, this can be completed in two ways from this year. Candidates can produce the video on their own or request a Teams video with a senior member of staff. This will be included on the website and Discourse. The video guidance and support will be given to all candidates in February after close of nominations.

All hustings statements should be sent in Word format, with photographs to the Company Secretary at anita.newlandsmith@camra.org.uk by email attachment to arrive no later than 3.00.pm on Friday 13 February 2026.

CAMRA’s Election Process – The Election Oversight Working Group

Candidates should be aware that the Election Oversight Working Group (EOWG) established by the National Executive will monitor the process, working through the Company Secretary.

The EOWG comprises six independent members: three current members of the NE (with one chairing), the Chairman of Regions and Branches Committee, the Chief Executive and Company Secretary.

Prospective candidates have the opportunity prior to submitting their candidacy, to have a confidential discussion with the EOWG Chairman about the role and/or any concerns they may have about being part of the National Executive or standing for election.
