Toby Carvery.

A Toby carvery restaurant which includes a spacious and comfortable separate bar area in which non-diners can relax. Snacks are served in this area. The location on the main A21 south of Bromley is convenient for bus routes into Bromley, Orpington and Biggin Hill.

Real ale was discontinued in 2017 with the handpumps removed.

Historic Interest

Built in 1866, this replaced the former inn on the other side of the road which was also called the Crown. This former Crown dated from 1765, when it was originally called the Pye House (named after the local fields), and following the start of the enclosure of Bromley Common in 1764. This would have served travellers on the London to Hastings & Rye coach road. The current Crown, which started off as an inn, would have served the new housing developments on Bromley Common which commenced in the 1860s.
