Description

Founded initially in Towcester in 1801, Phipps had been brewing in Northampton since 1817. Following a takeover by Watney Mann in 1960, the brewery closed in 1974. The company name, trademark and recipes were acquired and Phipps beers reappeared in 2008. The founding Phipps family rejoined the company in 2014, allowing the historic Albion Brewery and its associated bar to be restored, and Phipps brewing to return to the town after a 40-year absence.
