Hill Island

Unit 7, Fowlers Yard, Back Silver Street, Durham, DH1 3RA (View on Google Map) hillisland73@gmail.com

Description

Established in 2002, Hill Island is a literal translation of Dunholme, from which Durham is derived. It is part of Fowler's Yard Craft Workshops on the banks of the River Wear and can be reached by steps down from Silver Street. Nearly all production is sold through the pop-up bar which operates at the brewery most Saturdays (Facebook for updates) including weekends coinciding with Durham events such as the Durham Fire & Ice Festival, and the Durham Miner's Gala.
