This welcoming, Grade II listed family-run free house is full of character. A real community local, it has a down-to-earth bar and games room popular with locals and visitors alike. Good-value meals are served all week and the dining room boasts an inglenook fireplace with quaint stone oven. Once a rest house for 15th century Jervaulx Abbey monks, it has a pleasant patio at the rear; beware the tight entry to the car park. Full name is Fox and Hounds, but known to locals as The Fox to distinguish it from the Fox and Hounds in West Burton further up the dale. New tenants took over October 2023.
