This Pub is Permanently Closed
Small and cosy detached corner pub, dating from 1862.
Closed on 8 March 1007 after expiry of lease from owner Prudential, also owner of the former government offices behind. It is understood it wants eventually to redevelop the whole site for much needed luxury flats, subject to planning approval from Kensington & Chelsea Council, when the lease on the offices expires in five years’ time. The sad loss of yet another genuine community local which was once Everards Brewery’s only pub in London and has been a regular Good Beer Guide entry; indeed it is listed in the 2007 Guide
