Since death of licensee, this has not been a pub that anyone else could have taken on. A free house which started life as a farmhouse back in 1632. No jukebox or pool table to be found in this no-nonsense boozer, just lively conversation and a larger-than-life landlord who was committed to cask ale who fought to wrest ownership of the pub due for closure by Enterprise.
