An excellent remote inn on the Military Road, with Hadrian's Wall, Steel Rigg and Vindolanda nearby, attracting walkers and tourists. It has a fully refurbished bar area and offers a wide range of bottled beers from around the world. It has full wheelchair access and welcomes dogs. Accommodation is offered in 18 en-suite bedrooms. The Twice Brewed Brew House started producing its own beers in 2017, using water from its own well. chalk board near the bar that states how many real ales have been sold since beginning of the year. It's updated every Sunday and currently stands at 5110 pints (2024)
